Andrea Ho-Fatt Wang, DDS

Dentistry suits me perfectly because it’s an art and also very technical. I’ve always been good with my hands, and am passionate about helping others live healthy. I love educating patients on their oral health. I also enjoy showing patients what they had before and after we have treated them with intra-oral pictures. They get excited about the difference, and I know I’ve done my job well.

Education and Continuing Education
Before becoming a dentist, I first attained my Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from McMaster University before going on to receive my DDS from the University of Western Ontario in 2001. For my continuing education, I have attended Dawson Academy for courses in occlusion and esthetics for cosmetic dentistry, as well as advanced training in orthodontics for the general practitioner from Rondeau Orthodontics. I have been a certified Invisalign Provider since 2009 and treat many children and adults with fixed braces and clear aligners. I believe in treating children early with functional appliances and tongue habit training appliances to help create healthy dental arches and open airways to last a lifetime. I received my soft tissue Laser certification in 2013 that helps me do “bloodless” gum surgery with very little post operative discomfort. I have my Moderate Oral Sedation licence to help patients with anxiety and those who have busy lives and want to get a significant amount of dental work completed in one day without remembering the procedure. Our office has a Sedation Facility Permit from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario which ensures that we are operating under the highest standard of care. I’m a member of the Ontario Dental association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. I recently received my “Qualified Dentist” designation from the AADSM which shows my commitment to the treatment of Sleep Apnea and snoring with oral appliances. Last year I obtained more than 70 Continuing Education credits in Sleep Medicine and have started to work closely with Sleep Physicians in Markham and the surrounding areas. Dentistry is a true passion of mine. Our entire team attends the Ontario Dental Association’s annual spring meeting every year. I love to learn what’s new in the dental field and implement the techniques and state of the art equipment and materials into our office.

In the Office
I love creating and maintaining beautiful smiles for an entire lifetime. We start seeing patients as early as 10 months old for a dental visit but see newborns in the waiting room. Many patients stay with our office for many years, and our oldest patient is over 100 years old! I love seeing my patients grow up and I enjoy being a part of their lives. I have great patients! I’m always happy to hear what is going on their lives. My patients enjoy visiting our office due to my friendly team. Our patients are our friends. We like to spoil them with our massage chairs, and do our best to make them feel comfortable. Our team does all these things while our patients relax, knowing they are getting quality dental work done here.

Family Life
I met my husband, Jeffry Wang, at Western when I was in dental school and he was in medical school. After graduation we got married in 2001. We have 2 sons, Nathan and Eric, and a little girl named Katelyn. Taking care of them keeps me very busy! We all love to travel on vacation but are also content staying home together in our house in Unionville.
