Andrea Ho-Fatt Wang, DDS
Dentistry suits me perfectly because it’s an art and also very technical. I've always been good with my hands, and am passionate about helping others live healthy. I love educating patients on their oral health. I also enjoy showing patients what they had before and after we have treated them with intra-oral pictures. They get excited about the difference, and I know I’ve done my job well.
Education and Continuing Education
In order to become a dentist, I first attained my Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from McMaster University before going on to receive my DDS from the University of Western Ontario.
For my continuing education, I have attended Dawson Academy for courses in occlusion and esthetics for cosmetic dentistry, as well as classes in orthodontics for the general practitioner from Rondeau Orthodontics. I have also attended the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Toronto Academy of General Dentistry.
In addition, I have received training for early treatment with removable retainers to minimize extractions and get more space in crowded dentitions. This is done by using patient's growth during the mixed dentition stage, which is from age four to twelve. Instead of waiting to refer to an Orthondontist when all permanent teeth are in, I also place conventional braces or Invisalign clear aligners.
In the Office
I love creating and maintaining beautiful smiles for an entire lifetime. We start seeing patients as early as 10 months old for a dental visit but see newborns in the waiting room. Many patients stay with our office for many years, and our oldest patient is 100 years old! I love seeing my patients grow up and I enjoy being a part of their lives.
I have great patients! I'm always happy to hear what is going on their lives. My patients enjoy visiting our office due to my friendly team. Our patients are our friends. We like to spoil them with our massage chairs, and do our best to make them feel comfortable. Our team does all these things while our patients relax, knowing they are getting quality dental work done here.
I met my husband, Jeffry Wang, at Western when I was in dental school and he was in medical school. After graduation we got married in 2001. We have 2 sons, Nathan and Eric, and a little girl named Katelyn. Taking care of them keeps me very busy! We all love to travel on vacation but are also content staying home together in our house in Unionville.
